Set up IPTV on Windows PC, Mac & VLC
Stream UK live channels, 4K sports, and movies on Windows 10/11, macOS, and Linux using IPTV Smarters Desktop or VLC Media Player.

Before you start
- A PC, laptop, or Mac running Windows 10/11 or macOS 11+
- IPTV Smarters Pro for PC/Mac or VLC Media Player installed
- Your login details (Username, Password, Server URL) from your IPTV Provider UK WhatsApp message
- Broadband or 5G connection with at least 15 Mbps download speed

Step-by-step setup
Step 1: Download your player software
For an interactive TV guide and VOD artwork, download IPTV Smarters Pro for Windows or Mac. Alternatively, download VLC Media Player from videolan.org.
Step 2: Setup with IPTV Smarters (Option A - Recommended)
Launch Smarters, select "Login with Xtream Codes API", and type your Server URL, Username, and Password from WhatsApp. Click Add User to load the full UK guide.
Step 3: Setup with VLC Media Player (Option B)
Open VLC, click "Media" (or "File" on Mac) › "Open Network Stream" (Ctrl+N on Windows, Cmd+N on Mac).
Step 4: Paste your M3U Plus URL
Paste your IPTV Provider UK M3U Plus URL into the network URL field and click "Play".
Step 5: Open the channel playlist in VLC
Press Ctrl+L (Cmd+L on Mac) to view the channel playlist. Use the search bar to jump to Sky Sports Main Event, TNT Sports 1, BBC One HD, or ITV1.
Step 6: Enable Hardware Acceleration
In VLC, go to Tools › Preferences › Input / Codecs. Set "Hardware-accelerated decoding" to "Automatic" for silky-smooth 4K 60fps video playback.
Troubleshooting
VLC skips rapidly through channels without playing
In VLC, click the "Loop" button at the bottom until it is turned off. Rapid skipping means your UK broadband provider is filtering the stream port (disable Virgin Web Safe / BT Web Protect) or there is a typo in the M3U link.
Which is better for PC: IPTV Smarters or VLC?
IPTV Smarters is far better for daily entertainment because it organizes channels into UK Sports, Cinema, Documentaries, and Kids, with complete TV guides and movie posters. VLC is ideal for quick diagnostic checks.
Stream freezes or fails during live Saturday 3pm football matches
UK ISPs including Virgin Media, BT, and Sky enforce content filtering and security firewalls. In your Virgin Media online portal, turn off "Web Safe" (Virus Safe & Child Safe). On BT Home Hub, turn off "BT Web Protect". On Sky broadband, set "Sky Broadband Shield" to 18 or turn it off. Alternatively, set your router or device DNS to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google).
My login credentials are not accepted
Check for typos in the Server URL, Username or Password (they are case-sensitive). Ensure there are no accidental spaces copied from WhatsApp. If it still fails, message us on WhatsApp and our 24/7 UK team will verify your account immediately.
