Step-by-step setup

  1. Step 1: Install Downloader on your Fire TV

From the Fire TV home screen, select Find › Search. Type "Downloader", select the orange Downloader app by AFTVnews, and select Download/Get.

  2. Step 2: Enable Install Unknown Apps

Open Fire TV Settings › My Fire TV › Developer Options › Install Unknown Apps. Select Downloader and toggle it to ON. (If Developer Options is hidden, go to About and click your Fire TV name 7 times).

  3. Step 3: Download your IPTV player

Launch Downloader, enter the shortcode for your preferred app (e.g. 27584 for TiviMate, or code for IPTV Smarters Pro) and select Install.

  4. Step 4: Open the app and select Xtream Codes API

Launch your chosen app from your apps library. On the login screen, choose "Login with Xtream Codes API".

  5. Step 5: Enter your Xtream Codes or M3U Playlist

Open your IPTV player app and enter the Xtream Codes credentials (Username, Password, and Server URL) or M3U link sent to your WhatsApp by IPTV Provider UK.

  6. Step 6: Choose your default quality

Pick Auto (recommended), 4K UHD or Full HD. Auto adapts to your connection in real time; you can change it later under Settings › Playback. On Fire TV Stick 4K Max and Cube models, 4K HDR and Dolby Audio will be automatically enabled.

  7. Step 7: Test live stream and channels

Open the Live TV or Sports section and test any channel (e.g., Sky Sports Premier League or BBC One). In about 2 seconds the 4K stream should start playing smoothly without any buffering.

Troubleshooting

Developer Options is missing in Fire TV settings

Amazon hides Developer Options on newer Fire OS updates. Go to Settings › My Fire TV › About, and click your device name 7 times rapidly until a toast notification says "No need, you are already a developer".

Stream freezes or fails during live Saturday 3pm football matches

UK ISPs including Virgin Media, BT, and Sky enforce content filtering and security firewalls. In your Virgin Media online portal, turn off "Web Safe" (Virus Safe & Child Safe). On BT Home Hub, turn off "BT Web Protect". On Sky broadband, set "Sky Broadband Shield" to 18 or turn it off. Alternatively, set your router or device DNS to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google).

The picture stutters or drops frames on 4K 60fps channels

Ensure your Fire TV Stick is plugged directly into the mains wall adapter, not a low-powered TV USB port. On 4K Max models, set Settings › Display & Sounds › Display › Match Original Frame Rate to "ON".
